I did my first major spatial design project at New Life Church in Renton, Washington. Overseeing everything from new construction to interior design, murals, way finding–and the challenge of transforming a gymnasium into a dynamic and exciting space.
After the success of that project launch in 2012, I worked with over one hundred churches across the United States on kids’ environments, helping recreate boring spaces into fun and engaging spaces for children. Using the local story of each church’s neighborhood and town as inspiration, I created and designed everything from fanciful woodlands, WPA-inspired lodges, racetracks, pirate ships in space, a Saul Bass-inspired vision of Yakima, Washington, and more.
